Spinoff to lautism ight/ceiling fan question
What age is a baby supposed to start responding to your voice, his name, etc. He does startle with sounds and looks at me when I feed him. But when I am talking to him, he doesnt always look at me the whole time. He looks around alot. But I guess I can't expect a 6 wk. old to look at me for 20 min. while i am singing and talking to him.

DD only started really giving me real steady eye contact the last month and is 4 months old.

Cailen began in the hospital.... He is very alert and responsive now - when DH comes home, he will turn his face to him and smile and flail his arms in response...
Check out the developmental checklist I posted - that should help out a bit with this stuff
