Spinoff to log book - do you keep a journal of your DC's day/accomplishment

I was doing it everyday until I went back to work. Chat Icon

I would write what we did that day. In addition to his eating/diaper log.

I would write where we went and he was doing.

His 1st smile.
His first roll over.
His first trip to NJ
His experience at chuch (not too good!)

Do you do that also?

I think I would love to read it again when he is an adult and go back the memory lane. At least, I would have some sort of timetable for all his milestones.

I did for a while- I just kept a tiny little notepad (like smaller than a 4x6 photo) that I would just jot things down into. However, I haven't done this since she was a little over a year.

I am not a journal type of person at all. But I just have a little spiral notebook I keep in my purse. I thought that was fun.

I'll try my best to keep track of it. I don't know if I will just write things in his "pee and poop" notebook or if I will write it somewhere else!

i have a special calendar for that - everytime he does something special i write it down. I also do paragraphs at the end of the month telling what he is doing now. that is all i have time for. I wish i could keep a daily log!!

I try to write down what I can on our calendar. It's hard because when one does something I might be feeding/changing the other and I don't write it down right away, then I forget.Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to log book - do you keep a journal of your DC's day/accomplishment

I did for a little bit but for some reason I always think I'll remember these things. Like DD just started walking and I didn't write it down yet, thinking that I'll remember. I guess I should get back on the ball!

I know a mom of twins who writes in a journal monthly for her girls. The girls are 10 years old and she has done this all of their lives. She writes about whatever they did during that month. The girls LOVE it!

I have a baby book for the milestones. For the day to day things like feeding/nap/diapers I did keep a log for a couple of months. Looking back at DD#1's log when DD#2 was first born was SO useful--it helped me to remember that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Re: Spinoff to log book - do you keep a journal of your DC's day/accomplishment

I was doing this religiously in the beginning. For example, everytime he pooped, went to the dr etc

Now i put the feedings and the big events...i.e. first day of daycare.

He will laugh one day when he sees that he survived Brooklyn's 1st Tornado
