James - 3 girls choose boys names for confirmation bc the religion teacher would kick us out of class early in the middle of winter so we made a pact.

Michael- Why? Growing up it was only me, my dad and brother. They are both named Michael so I wanted it as my confirmation name so we'd have that in common.
Also, all of the girls in my class took either Theresa or Ann or Marie and I already have two of those names.

I have to ask - did the nuns give you a hard time too? She told me that I was going to have to do a report on St. James. I said that no one else had to do one. SHe said perhaps another year of CCD would suit me. I told her that it was really important for me to be confirmed, but my mom was Jewish - so it was the last year I'd be taking it regardless. She caved. Meanwhile ..she was Sister Joan Michael..!!!!!!

Not a saint and the church didnt really care what I chose as long as it got me out of religion classes. I think it had something to do with the fact that in my confirmation paper I wrote "Jesus was a cool dude, he died for his people"
