Spinoff to my own post-- Passport Photos
OK-- so I need to renew my passport. I just took my THIRD set of pictures...omg, I cannot take a good picture and these schmucks don't tell you when they are shooting and they don't let you see before you pay the 10 bucks.
My last one is OK-- although-- I am still not happy. I mean-- it's OK-- but, whatever. DH thinks I am totally crazy-- am I??
I have already spend 30 bucks taking pics-- when is enough, enough??

Try CVS... that is where I got my passport pic taken and they let you re-take until you are happy with it.
And I think it was something like 5 or 6 dollars and I got a whole sheet of little Dani's

I took as many sets as you, and finally did it myself! If you have a digital camera, have your DH or a friend take you at home with a plain background. This site formats them in the appropriate size, then I went and printed at CVS for a quarter! and I have a GREAT pic!

Re: Spinoff to my own post-- Passport Photos
I haven't checked officially, but couldn't you do your own photos? As long as it's the correct size, would it matter who took it? I would think you could do your own digital photo, then bring it to CVS (or wherever) and print it out on their print kiosks (so it's on professional paper with professional inks, etc instead of home printers). I don't know the answer, but thought I'd pose the question in the hopes someone else knew the answer....

I agree, very few people have one they like. Mine - honestly, I look like a terrorist - its quite scary. I've changed a lot since the pic was taken. I've actually had customs look at it and cringe.

Re: Spinoff to my own post-- Passport Photos
Ha! I went through this exact same thing last year. Glad to hear I'm not alone in my vanity! I went three times to take the damn photo and each time it got worse. I finally chose the least of the three evils, but I stressed so much about it that everyone thought I was being ridiculous. I can tell you though, I still get pissy when I look at my passport. I should have held out for a fourth!
Taking it yourself is the best way to go. Sorry I didn't think of it.

I got mine at CVS; it is absolutely horrible-the worst photo I have EVER taken, but oh well....

Same here. Considering it's not something I look at everyday, I laughed at the pic and just sent it in.
