I just called my parents right away. My DH's parents came over the day after and we just told them over dinner.

My parent.. Dad.
I mailed him a onesie with Darth Vader on it with “Who’s your daddy?” on it.
I also mailed him a card that was purposely blank inside.. where you would normally have a little saying of some type I wrote in “ETA: 9/8/07” On the left side of the card I told him I knew who the daddy was and I hoped he’d be able to put this onesie on the little one later…. Signed me, my hubby and the creature within. So by default, my stepmother knows.

His parent .. Mom
Chinese New Years.. This is the year of the Rat. So we went over for our normal eating celebrations and while it was just his mom, stepfather and us, we let them know there’d be another Rat in the family (his lil sister is a Rat too) and said we were pregnant. I let Jim do the talking on this one.

Well we told them when i was 3 months along on christmas.

I got a double frame and put a picture of their 1st grandson (Tyler) on the left side and a picture of their other grandchild (my baby to be-sono pic) on the right side. To represent both of their grandchildren.

However they didn't get it. They thought the sonogram picture was Tyler when he was in the womb.

I'm like why would i be giving you a sonogram picture of Tyler and why would i have one???

Finally my husband had to tell them that i was the one who was pregnant and that womb was mine!

My parents I called as soon as I got my BFP.

DH's parents we waited until after we went for our sono and drove down to NY. We wanted to tell them in person. So we went out to dinner. FIL had just had hand surgery so DH asked him, "Dad- how's your grip?" and he handed him the little sono pic of our bean

My parents knew we were trying so I called them the day I got my BFP.

My in-laws...we went to my SIL's wedding that day and told them there.

Invited both sets of parents over for dinner.

When they got to our house I had Peanut (our pomeranian) in a shirt that said "I'm gonna be a big sister".

I bought a pair of baby booties & wrapped it up for them to open on Christmas. They thought it was just a regular present until they opened it

ETA: This was for both sets of parents. My parents were so happy they were in tears. My oblivious inlaws didn't get it & first & started cracking up laughing.

We had gone to dinner at my aunts house, so my family was there, aunts, and uncles. Earlier in that day, my aunt brought me to the side and asked me if I wanted her to keep some girl baby clothes that she had, bc she knew I would have a baby again one day, but she didn't want to upset me, or not ask. I said, yes, please save them and thanked her.

We ate dinner, and as I was sitting there, I couldn't keep it in anymore. We had just found out the day before.

So we finished dinner and the family was just cleaning off the table and sitting around. I looked at my mom and said, "Oh, I have to tell you something." She replies, "What?"

I say, "I'm pregnant..." My mother immediately started crying and my whole family is like, "What happened, what's the matter?" Because they weren't really paying attention. My dad tried to repeat what I said, but he couldn't get it out. So I said, I am pregnant. Screams were everywhere. My aunt who had asked about the baby clothes hit my arm and said, "And here you had me feeling bad that I was asking you about baby clothes!!"

Everyone was excited, and my mom said, "I wish grandma was here to see this." My grandmother died exactly 5 weeks after I gave birth-and 2 days before Christmas. So I said, "Grandma helped us get this baby, she knows mom."

I told my mom the day I got a positive test and wrapped up a book called I Already Know I Love You. It's actually by Billy Crystal and he wrote it when his daughter was pregnant for his future grandchild. Its a really sweet book.

We were all together on Christmas so we had his parents and mine to stand next to the tree together so we could take a picture. Instead of having them say cheese, we asked them to say "we're going to be grandparents". Corny, I know. And I am usually not so cheesy. Okay, I have to go throw up now.

I blew it with my mom in a conversation one week before I planned to tell her. Thinking that it wasn't right that she knew and not my IL's, we told them by having us go over to his parent's house so DH could pick up his classical music CDs. He sais he wanted to play them for the baby in utero. They didn't get it. Then he blurted it out.

We found out we were Pg the week before Father's Day. I wanted to wait to tell everyone, but DH couldn't resist telling his folks.

SO, we bought FIL a cute Grandpa Father's Day card and in the card we wrote "Coming Feb 2008".

It was a big surprise because our DS was the first grandchild on that side of the family. Beautiful moment.
