Spinoff to Saf-T swim post...

Can anyone tell me how much it costs for the group classes? The one where mommy and daddy go in the pool too? DS is almost 2 and i DO NOT see him going in the pool without me right now.

Also...we would use the Bellmore location. can anyone recommend an instructor? Or is there only one for the group class?

We went to the saf-t swim in deer park in april/may. It was 30% off. I *think* it was $90 plus a $15 reg fee. C really liked it, me and DH took turns taking him in. I know the saturday classes are always much bigger. We only had like 6 or 7 people in our weekday class. There was about 20 in the saturday class.

I don't think it would be worth it for a 2 year old to take the mommy and me class. Its a lot of singing and moving their legs and arms.

It's good if you are interested in getting him used to the water but It's not great for actually learning to swim. We did mommy and me and the individual lessons. Even though DS cried he learned a lot more with just the instructor.

Sorry I meant we did both types. First mommy and me and then I had DS do the lessons with the instructor. It was a while ago so I dont remember the cost.

If you have a choice of instructor, I like Jason (I don't know anyone else though). DD is taking lessons with him, and he is really good with her.

at 2 i would definitely not do the mommy and me, but would do the private lessons.

he may cry the first few times, but that is normal.

When I had Adam enrolled in the Oceanside class, it was about $70 for the group class.

Re: Spinoff to Saf-T swim post...

We did safe-t swim (bellmore) with Robert this past winter. The facility is really nice. We did 2 sessions with him. Each session is 6 classes. The first session was the intro class and the second was called down under. They were having a special when we signed up. I think we paid around $80 for the first 6 classes and then about $120 for the next six. We did the Saturday morning class with Megan and she was great! Each class is 30 minutes. Our class was full (10 kids) and all of the kids were between 4 months and 20 months. Im sure that Ian will love it! We are probably going to sign Robert up for another session soon.

We have classes with Rebecca at Bellmore. She is great (and very patient).

Re: Spinoff to Saf-T swim post...

Abby has been at Bellmore for over a year. She started just before she turned two and the Mommy and Me classes were not an option for her. She was too old. They may cry for the first few classes but they eventually stop. We use Frankie.
