spinoff to smoking....Welbutrin *added a question in the last post*
For those of you who have used this or know somone who has......what kind of side effects does this have on you?
My DH has tried everything else and nothing's worked. I think this is his next step.

My GF used it and had horrible side effect, couldnt breathe, chest pains, she felt suicidle (sp) and trust me she is the the total oppisite. She stopped taking it.

My MIL used it and LOVED it.
No noticible side effects at all, besides the fact that she had to peepee more often - but we're not quite sure if that was a side effect of the Welbutrin or something else!

I used it and honestly had NO side effects. It took away the cravings and I think it is worth a shot. GL to your DH

When I was on it, I became VERY VERY VIOLENT SHORT TEMPERED OVER EVERY LITTLE THING... Took 3 days to get out of my system.. if you woud like more info please fm me

I heard it worked wonders.
I tried it and was allergie to it..only thing I have ever been allergic to in my life.
I broke out in massive hives within 20 minutes of taking.

everyone's different. I took it years ago to help my depression, it gave me severe anxiety, panic attacks and sucidal thoughts.
The doctor lowered my dosage, gave me an anti-anxiety pill and once I found the right dosage I was okay.

I know someone who had the SAME exact side effects. TERRIBLE! Each person is different though, so you won't know unless you actually try it.

One more question.....I've heard conflicting ways of doing this. Are you supposed to continue smoking on the pills until you just don't feel like smoking anymore or should you quit cold turkey before taking them?

You're supposed to start taking this about 2 weeks before you plan to stop smoking. It takes about 2 weeks for the medication to start having its real effect. You are also supposed to start at once per day, and then increase to twice a day after a couple of days. The most common side effect is the vivid dreams. But I've also heard of the agitation/anxiety. Insomnia and dry mouth are also common with this drug. I have heard of good results with smoking using this.

My brother is on this (I'm guessing for depression) and to be honest his whole personality has changed since. My family is a little worried.

before getting pregnant, i was taking wellbutrin for anxiety/depression along with another medication and it did nothing to help my smoking habit....luckily, finding out i was pregnant did the trick instead.
