Spinoff to stranger anxiety
i know a lot of babies have stranger anxiety, but what about the ones that dont and enjoy everyone? Even though DS prefers DH or myself (e.g. looks for us when others hold him), he really loves everyone in our families (he's 4 months old) and our famiilies are big on both sides. i think i sort of wish he would be a little more attached to me considering i have been at home with him the whole time. Some of my friends said it tends to happen when they are a little older and enjoy it now that he goes to any of them.

yes! enjoy it now! ds is 8.5mos old and whenever my parents try to hold him he cries like crazy. even with my hub. ds rather be held or be near me. makes it really hard for me to have a moment to myself.

Re: Spinoff to stranger anxiety
It just means that you are doing an awesome job, and DC knows that you are always there, so he is comfortable being with other people. Mommy's got his back!
(This does not mean that I think mom's with DCs that have stranger anxiety aren't awesome moms....)

Re: Spinoff to stranger anxiety
Your DS will likely go through the stranger/separation anxiety at some point. For now, enjoy the fact that he will let others hold him.
My DD is 12.5 months old and she just wants me...all the time. She's home all day with DH so I certainly thought that the pendulum would swing but it hasn't. She really doesn't want anyone else to hold her. The only other person, other than DH and I, that can hold her is my SIL for some reason. Other than that....she just cries when other people touch her---well sometimes when they just look at her actually.
