Spinoff to the babies in the car story....
Does this happen to other new moms?
I am PARANOID about ever forgetting that Cailen is in the car - I know its near impossible because he is always crying when I stop at a light, or because I usually take him to and from daycare, but I check the seat a million times a day. Even when I KNOW he is in daycare.
I don't know whats wrong with me - there was one time I panicked during the day. I had this awful feeling he was still in the car. Of course he wasn't, but I had to look over into the backseat....
Am I the only neurotic mom out there???

No, I am usually not a paranoid mom, but I have heard a few stories about parents leaving their kids in cars over the past week now. When I read this last one, DH was out with DD, and he happened to call at that moment. The first thing that flashed in my head was he was calling to say he left her in the car... My heart was racing! Of course he was just calling to say how their outing went, but for a split second I was freaked!

No, I actually do that too! We have a nanny so there isn't even a drop off involved but EVERYTIME I get to my car after work, my heart does these little flips like I am about to walk up to the car and see DS sitting in the car seat

Thanks ladies - the funny thing is - I am not neurotic at all about anything else - he has had high fevers, a prolonged cough, ear infections, etc - at only 4 mts old - and I had to roll with the punches.... but this is one thing I feel I can never be too careful about!

I won't bathe either of my kids if I'm home alone with them. Wanna know why?
That horrible woman in texas drowned her kids...and the baby was the same age as DD at the time. I've been paranoid ever since that if anything happened while bathing her, I'd be associated with such a monster, even if it was an accidental occurrence for me.

If you're REALLY paranoid, they have a new device out that beeps like crazy if you go 10 feet from the car without the baby.
I saw it on Good Morning America

nah - not that paranoid - the truth is, since I'm pretty much the one responsible for his comings and goings (I am rarely in the car without him at this point) I know it wont ever happen....
