Spinoff to the Gas Price Thread

I already carpool with DH to work. The HOV is great, and we really save on gas and wear on the car. So if 2 is good - I think 3 or 4 would be even better. I agree that $4 is a burden - but that is the reality.

Our gas has been artificially low for a long time. So rather than curse the darkness - I think we should take responsibility to figure something out.

I was just curious to see how much interest there would be in a LIF carpool.
I'm sure many of us are going to the same places.

If you need a ride (or know someone who does) this would be a great forum for it...

Where are you coming from/going to?
What time do you have to be at work?


My problem is always the schematics...time and/or places....

Must be at work in Hicksville by 9 and live in Medford.

If it works, I would be willing to do it...better than taking the train.

this is a great post.

I bought a Prius in January because although my old car got 33MPG I was starting to hate myself over my carbon footprint. I looked into taking the LIRR, there were no evening trains that would get me home , I'd either have to leave work one hour early or stay & wait for a train for 1.5 hours, plus I'd still have to drive 20 minutes to a station.
My DH commutes east & I commute west-46 miles so there is no way for us to share a car.
I put my name on every carpool list I could find online & didn't find any matches, so I decided to buy my Prius.
Now I have the luxury of going in the HOV by myself.

I live at exit 68 on the LIE & I work in Massapequa M, T, TH, F but since I'm in healthcare I don't always finish on time which means my carpoolers might have to wait for me sometimes.
I'd be interested though if my locations work for someone.
