Spinoff to Where are my Spanish girls?
anybody marry into a spanish family? i'm about as irish as they come but since changing my last name i now get Latina magazine and telemarketing calls in spanish. is this like a rite of passage or something?

I was married to a Spaniard and lived in Spain -- 13 years. But since in Spain you don't change your name when you marry I kept my Irish last name.
This time too.

hehe its so funny to be irish all your life and all of a sudden be marketed to you in spanish (when hola is the extent of my spanish vocab)

we went to an argentinian steakhouse tonight with my ILs. the waitstaff found us hilarious bc we were sharing sides and apps and after MUCH discussion in spanish, i looked at the server who spoke both and said i'll eat whatever they tell you. it'll be a nice surprise. anyone want to teach me spanish
