Spinoff: Toddler moms-- do you still use a sunshade in the car?

Our sunshade fell down a while ago in the car and we never put it back up, since it was winter and the sun didn't really bother DD.

We switched her to forward-facing last month, and now she LOVES to look out the window and comment on the cars, birds, etc...so I don't think I'm even going to bother putting the shade back up, although I do keep it in the car for "just in case".

Do you still have one up for your toddler?

We still use one, but it doesn't block her view (nor much of the sun, for that matter! Chat Icon). It clings to the window and is clear, but sort of darkens when the sun comes out. So she can still see out, but has *some* sun protection. I believe it's made by Fisher Price.

We do but they are a built in shade in my minivan. You can see through them.

Lets add to the list of after market products not recommended.

Sunshades, unless they are the type that cling. Sunshades that are held on by suction cups dislodge in accidents. As a result they become projectiles that can hit either the baby or another occupant in the car.

That's why I got the kind that clings (as you said). It just doesn't do a very good job! Chat Icon

We recently (last 3-4 months) changed to the stick on ones, but DD loves to pull them off. So they've been off more than on, but lately the sun really bothers her.
