Spinoff- what are some of your other pet peeves/words/sayings that drive you nuts?
Since I'm so irrationally bothered by the"Best," signature on email.... ...it got me thinking about other things that make me irate for no good reason.
Here are few:
Totes- when I see this on social media I become irate and want to strangle the person. Like straight up strangle them.
Gorg- You can't take the 1.15 seconds it takes to type out the rest? It's 4 FREAKING LETTERS MORE for CHRIST'S SAKE!
#instagood - what does that really mean? And what is the point of it? I mean really.
All the feels- what is this? I mean really what is this? It doesn't even make grammatical sense if you think about it. It's just a disgrace. One person says something moronic and everyone has to follow and use it like sheep.
And on a smiliar note:
Such and such is EVERYTHING.... no, no it's not. That cute story about the puppy in the shelter or that chocolate chip cookie dough pancake you posted is not EVERYTHING. It's one thing. It's not everything. Please stop.
I know there is more I am forgetting. I remember the other day seeing something and getting aggravated, but I can't remember it. It will come to me.

Re: Spinoff- what are some of your other pet peeves/words/sayings that drive you nuts?
When people say "This ____________ is life!" or "DEAD!"
Basically like 90% of slang used today drives me bonkers.
ETA: Totes is ridic. I make fun of a friend for saying it all the time so I got her daughter a onesie that says "Totes Adorbs" on it. Of course she loved it, even if I was gifting it ironically.

Re: Spinoff- what are some of your other pet peeves/words/sayings that drive you nuts?
This one makes me crazy - I see it all the time at work:
"In regards to...."
You give your regards to Broadway. The correct phrase is "In regard to..."

I am literally starving to death! Um, no you are not LITERALLY starving to death. People who are in famine ravished countries are starving to death. You are hungry. I agree with the over use of literally.

I also can't stand "literally".
I always hear Inigo Montoya in my head: "you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Pretty much anyone who speaks, writes in abbreviated words. I don't mean using abbreviations in writing, but using the abbreviation as an actual word -like OP said - Totes, gorge, and other words like jelly (sp?) for jealous, etc
And "Please and Thank you" - said all at once! No, you ask me for something and say please. I do it/give it to you, you say Thank you. Bugs the crap out of me!

Overuse of the words "Epic" and "Shocking." Also, the hashtag "Blessed."

Re: Spinoff- what are some of your other pet peeves/words/sayings that drive you nuts?
Anything that is not proper English.
Made up words or abbreviated words
The overuse of "literally", "like", "um".
Wrong pronunciations : she axed me a question ....
DH says to me "I'll talk on you later" No, dear, you will talk WITH me or TO me later. I correct him all the time. Drives me freaking bonkers.

"Best" infuriates me. I had a boss once who used that in every email and she was a gigantic POS.
People who have their credentials in their signature line- of their personal email. Why? One girl I know has not just BA and some professional certification but that she's a masters candidate. Have separate signatures. You look crazy and desperate for a job.
Poor grammar and spelling errors in general.
Oh and blessed. ENOUGH WITH THE BLESSED.

Spinoff- what are some of your other pet peeves/words/sayings that drive you nuts?
Words or phrases that are used so much that that people accept them as a new form of grammar
For example- Where you at?- No-Where are you I was conversating.. conversating IS NOT a word. I out- no you are leaving Aight- NOT a word-does it take that much longer to say alright? Fo real/ Fo show- is one extra letter really that tough? And it's sure not show.
Combining words annoys me too- bromance, gignormas , staycation

"could care less" should be COULDN'T CARE LESS. They're, their, there.
DC follow in my footsteps with grammar, so once in a while we'll say "I could care less... not much less, but I could care a little bit less."

I forgot my biggest one. Hubby. I literally cringe (yes, I'm using it correctly, I physically cringe) everytime I read or hear it.

"taken back." Not a thing. It's taken aback.
"over the moon". Yuck.
"curated" (if you don't mean a museum or exhibit--get over yourself).

Hubby hubs the hubster my man. All of these make me bananas. Preggs, preggo, preggers. Just say pregnant. And don't say "we're pregnant." Only one of you is actually pregnant. Amaze balls. Just don't.
