Spinoff: what's your vaccination schedule?
DS is to go for his 5 month checkup next week and I really want to discuss this further with his ped.
Can you share your schedule or ideas?

My ped said we will hold off vaccines if she sees developmental issues

but by that point can't it be too late? It seems some children can change on a dime as soon as the injection is administered.......

I am going to go on schedule with the exception of the 15 month one--which I think is the controversial one...I need to do more research

I agree with this- I am going on the schedule with the exception of the MMR (I think that is the one you are referring to that is controversial). I am going to delay that one and break it up into three.
I recommend the Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears. My DS is 11 weeks and I just got it from Amazon. it gives tons of info on vaccines, what's in them, etc. it also gives all of our options if we want to delay, what's required, alternative schedules, etc. It has helped me so far, because I feel clueless and overwhelmed with all of the conflicting information out there!!! Of course my ped doesn't like the book- but that's another story

Re: Spinoff: what's your vaccination schedule?
We skipped the Hep vaccine in the hospital. DS got it later on.
We do 1 shot a month (more ped visits, but more peace of mind for myself). If he is sick, no shots for that month. I have not/will not give DS the rotovirus or flu vaccine. He also will not be getting the chicken pox vaccine until it is absolutely necessary when he goes to school. The MMR shot will be delayed until at least 2, probably 3, and will be split up.
