Please help with Vaccination Q ... Your DC's vaccination schedule...
Would anyone be willing to post their DC vaccination schedules - what shots they have/or will have and at what age?
DS is scheduled to get his first shots this week and is supposed to get: DTaP, Comvax and IPV. I really wish I could limit it to only one or two shots but when I asked the dr. this he said - no because then DS would never be able to "catch up". I know that many of you ladies only give your DC one or two shots per visit so I am assuming this Dr. is wrong and would like to go to the visit with a proposed workable schedule but have no idea where to begin.
Thanks so much in advance to those of you that take the time to respond. I cannot tell you how very very nervous I am about this week

I only give DS one shot at a time. I did not give DS the hep. shot in the hospital. I told the ped. that we can doule up on shots in the future that I know he has not had a reaction too and so far he has not had a reaction to any. My ped. does not give the rotovirus shot. DS will also not be getting the flu vaccine and he will get the chicken pox shot when it is time for him to go to school.

I just sent this to a friend of mine. Kathy- Hope this helps. Like we were talking about, along with the autism question, I feel overloading a newborn/infant is ridiculous! This is what I sent the girls on the webpage when they asked me. Every shot falls within the timeline recommended by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) My biggest pet peeve is the Hepatitis shot they want to give in the hospital nursery! Most all babies do not need a blood transfusion so I guess they need the shot for all the sexual activity they do while they are there. So your job as a the new Grandma is to tell Abigail NO BASSINET HOPPING IN THE NURSERY!!!! LOL Go figure!

Hope this helps. My doctors have no problem with it because insurance pays. Insurance should pay no matter what because kids get sick and sometimes can't get a shot. Then when they go back to make it up they might be into their next round and you can't give a kid 4 shots at once. For me it was piece of mind. no one is sure about what might cause problems with kids. If shots do eventually come into being a factor, I'm exposing my child a little less rather than all at once. I still comply with the vaccinations it just gets spread out a little longer.
