Spinoff....BFing and AF-is this just an unexplained correlation?

I can't handle reading these posts anymore about months and months without AF. Mine showed at 5.5 weeks.

has returned every 28 like clockwork.

He definitely nursed more then 8 times a day.

Is there anything I can do next time around?

it's definitely not an unexplained correlation. the milk-producing hormone prolactin typically suppresses the estrogen/progesterone cycle that causes AF, at least initially while breastfeeding. for some women the cycle is suppressed longer than for others. i'm not sure why your cycle came back so quickly, but i don't think there is much you could do about it. sorry

I don't think there is anything that you could do. I was one of the "unlucky" ones as well. AF came at 6 weeks.

I don't think you can change it. Mine came back at 5 months PP. I reduced my pumping while on medication (pump and dump) and I think mentally I knew it would affect me too. I felt it was "over" for BF since I could not nurse for 1 week. AF came 2 weeks later.

Nope there's nothing you can do since what happened to you did happen to me twice! I nursed exclusively with both as well. It definitely s@cks!
