spinoff:Grow up - Bottles-how to get rid of? (f/u ?? What kinda cups for daycare?)
Ok she's 14mo and yeah I'm so over the bottle trip
She'll drink from a sippy. She'll drink from a straw (juice box).
I only give her a bottle once a night (her last bottle of the night) and only if I have too. My hubby thinks I'm mean. Says if we know a bottle soothes her and gets her sleepy why not use it? I say she needs to learn to live without and besides I give it to her if she's truly about to go over the edge.
So here's my dilemma.... Daycare. We send 3 bottles to daycare. All three are used. They have a sippy there too and I know at least once a day she gets that. I can see it will be hard because all the other little babies have bottles. You can see her on the video walking around the room while others are with their bottles, playing with them or trying to just knock their bottles away (speaking of.. I'd say half the kids are holding their own bottles).
So how can i tame this beast? #1 Just tell daycare NO MORE bottle? #2 Take out one of the bottles and phase the other two out - say one a month? #3 Wait a week or so until she's in the NEXT room where less kids use bottles and then take the bottles away / phase out?
I have noticed she's more attached to the paci since we've backed off on the bottles. But I can still yank it away with no tears unless she's sleepy.
On the weekends, I'd say we go through two bottles.
any advice..? I'm open to it!
FOLLOWUP QUESTION: Can you show me the kinda cups you send to daycare?

Re: spinoff : grow up - Bottles... how to get rid of?
I would wait til she is in the next room if it is only a week or so.
ANd just take them away, send cups to daycare and she will be fine

I would choose option #3 #3 Wait a week or so until she's in the NEXT room where less kids use bottles and then take the bottles away / phase out?

My ped said a toddler is not going to understand phasing them out. Just take them away cold turkey
