Spinoff...if you lost money/wallet

did you get it back?

I have 3 stories.

1st: I was in HS & was wearing boyfriend's gold linked ID bracelet that he had just gotten for his bday. He let me wear it for my regents that day for luck. We were going to the park to play softball & I had my mitt & a lesportsac in my lap (w/ his bracelet in it). Well we went to get off the bus & I took the glove, but somehow left/dropped my wallet. I got off & as the bus is pulling away I realize. My friends & I start chasing the bus, no luck. We called bus depot & we didn't get bus number. We actually even flagged a cop down but by that time the bus was long gone. I left my name w/ bus depot/dispatcher, but no luck. I was devastated.

2nd: I was leaving for Cancun in the am & had just gotten paid. I cashed my check & had $600 spend money in my wallet. I was shopping for toiletries at Main Street in the Genovese & when I went to pay I realized I had my wallet, but not the purse w/ the $. I freaked & left all my toiletries in the cart & ran back to the other store (a mom/pop store I was in b4 Genovese) & they said they saw nothing & pretended they didn't speak English. I had no money to even take the bus home. I asked someone for a quarter to call my parents. (My stupidity for taking money out by myself & walking around w/ that kind of money).

3rd story is a good story...it was the night b4 Thanksgiving...went to Friendlys to get gift card. I was at the take out window for 5 minutes & no one came to help me. I stupidly left my wallet on the counter & stormed out. I go to have dinner w/ a fellow LIFer an hour later & couldn't find my wallet. I call the friendlys & the person I got, said they don't have anything & then she says, let me ask a mgr. The mgr. says, wait a minute....comes back on & says, the mgr b4 did find a wallet & put it on the side. I was thrilled. I get there half thinking money/cards would be gone & EVERYTHING was there, even my dad's NYPD mini badge. I was thrilled.

Never lost a wallet or a significant amount of money...but I think it's because I'm VERY OCD about triple-checking that I have it when I leave a store, enter a store, get into my car, etc. Same with my cell phone. It's sick how I am.

I lost it at work once...our breakroom was a shared room with the front of the building, which was a medical center...lots of people coming in and out. I'm guessing I left it there by accident and then it was stolen...it sucked.

I actually lost my wallet in Vegas.
Money, license and a few credit cards.
S ucked! Never got anything back.
I honestly didn't care about the few cards I had because I was able to cancel them right away. I was so upset over the money. Can't get that back.
I had to file a police report that it was lost. So I could use that as my ID to get back on the plane to get home.
