spinooff to smoking thread

i am not baskhing smokers or anyting but i just have to say that i forgot how badly you come home smelling when you are in a room with a bunch of smokers. I went to a party the other night at a resturaunt that had a private room and although they should not have allowed smoking they did and it was cigareets AND cigars. I came home my clothes, my hair everything STUNK! I felt like i was back in my 20's again when smoking was legal in bars and what i used tos mell like at the end of the night.

I am also 5 months pregnat so i was tryign to step outside for air every so often.
Am i the only one who hates the after smell of being around smoking?

It bothers me immensely. To each their own for smoking, it's just that I hate breathing it and smelling it, so I try to avoid being around it at all costs.

As a former smoker all I can say is that while you are an active smoker you don't smell it.

Last week, DH went out for Monday Night Football at a local pub and didn't get home until I was fast asleep. I woke up with a start because the whole room just STUNK like an ashtray.

Even though it was late- I refused to allow him in the bed and made him take a shower.

I hate smelling like smoke. When we were in Europe a few weeks ago, we came home from dinner (at a pub) and took showers. I couldn't go to sleep with my hair smelling like smoke.

Our clothes smelled for days - I had to separate them from everything else in the suitcase.

The smoke smell in the casinos is something that made me knot enjoy our Vegas trip as much last month.

I HATE the smell and I think public buildings who allow smoking when there is a law that says no smoking should be fined. Private Party or not, a no smoking law is a no smoking law.

I used to smoke (socially) and even then hating smelling of smoke. So now that I don't smoke I hate it even more!

Here I live now, they have smoking sections to restaurants, and in some even in the non-smoking I can smell it.

I hate it and it amazes me how some smokes don't mind smoking around a pregnant person.

I was a social smoker drink in one hand a smoke in the other..now that I'm pregnant the smell just grosses me out...but I'm sure than once I give birth I will go back to my "social" evil ways, Even if it was only once every 2 weeks

We had the verizon tech come in and he STUNK. My dh was lighting candles and I was spraying air freshener everytime he left to go out to his truck.

I cannot stand the smell.

Tell me about it. Now I'm an ex smoker and I'll still have a cigarette once in a while, if we are out.

But my SIL is a chain smoker and is staying with us for 10 days. She REEKS of smoke all the time. Her hair, her fingers. When we saw her for the first time, I almost started coughing. Now she is smoking MUCH less and only outside so its not as bad, but still. I jsut don't want her touching DD too much.
