Spotting after internal sono
Had my sono on Monday. All looked great. Nice heartbeat. Developing right in track. This morning, Wednesday, I have some brown spotting when I wipe. Would u be worried or think it's from the sono. Having miscarried before it makes me nervous but since all appeared strong I'm a little less nervous. But not totally. Anybody have spotting after internal and all wasok?

Re: Spitting after internal sono
I had a lot of spotting this pregnancy in the beginning. After any internal, even after bowel movements. Doctor said cervix is easily irritated in the beginning. Did not have spotting after like 12 oe 14 weeks

Re: Spitting after internal sono
Had me a little confused when I read the subject...spitting. Lmao...but it's normal in the first trimester to spot after sonos and internal exams. You may notice spotting once you get to the end of your pregnancy from vaginal exams. No need to worry.

Re: Spotting after internal sono
Yes, I've heard it's very common to spot after internal exams or sonos or even sex. That's why I abstained first trimester and my OB didn't do any internal examinations since due to past losses, it just wasn't worth the stress of spotting even if for 'normal' reasons. I did have an internal sono though of course, but all was well. I'd say that your spotting is definitely from that, esp if it's brown and only when you wipe (not like a bright red actual 'bleeding' going on).

Spotting after internal sono
Thanks....I guess I'm nervous because when I miscarried the first time, it was shortly after I had an internal sono (I discovered the miscarriage when I went back two weeks after the first sono, but the fetus had stopped growing basically at the time of the first sono) and with that one I had a bit of brown (and then pink) at some point too. Dr.'s office called me back and said its normal, but if it continues or I worsens I can come in. I'll keep an eye out during the day and hope all is well. All looked really good on Monday -- so hopefully it's fine.

Yeah, I've had a loss begin that same way. Just brown when I wiped and everyone told me it was completely normal. It turned into actual bleeding by the next day. So, even though I do believe that an internal can definitely cause spotting that is completely FINE, I do agree about keeping an eye on it. If it feels like it's persisting or getting worse, then definitely call dr to get it checked out. Blood of any sort is always scary during pregnancy (especially if you've had a loss in the past) so I understand your fears. Get it checked out just for peace of mind if you need it, ya know? But I bet that's all this is and all will be fine.

The brown discharge was just for a short amount of time this morning and then stopped probably by the 3rd time I went to the bathroom.........no further bleeding so I think it's ok (although my stomach has been off the whole day - but maybe I'm just tired). I was tempted to go to the dr to double check (even though I was just there) but then think I should just not disturb anything further. I think/hope I'm ok. My google searches seem to indicate that brown discharge around this time (2 days after the internal) is pretty normal, and since it's been nothing more, I am going to trust that. The pregnancy looked very healthy on Monday with a nice strong heartbeat so I would have a hard time believing something changed......I hope
