SPR: AF related and definately TMI sorry ,but I need advice.
Pretty much after I had Eva ( 18 months ago) my period is really bad ,like blood clots the size of golf balls and sometimes bigger. When I get these clots and they are ready to be passed I get a terrible cramp ( like labor pains) and I have to high tail it to the bathroom to pass it so the cramps will stop I know this post is TMI ,but I don't want to go to the doc if this is normal for alot of woman ,and if it isn't I would like some feedback so I can go to the doc prepared with questions . Thank you and sorry

I would think you may have some retained placenta or something. Just tell your Dr what is going on. FYI-they will probably put you on BCP since that seems to be their answer for heavy periods. I have always read clots should be smaller than a quarter

I have experienced the same thing since giving birth. I take advil to take the edge off the cramps. I even had to change to those super tampons

I can't even use tampons b/c the clots push them out I have tried all sorts of tylenol and what not ,but not Advil .. I should try that !
Thanks ladies

Advil will thin your blood and make you bleed more heavily but may break up the clots. I say call your OB just to be safe.

Do I go to the doc while I still have AF or do I wait until it is gone? Thank you !

Mine was like that as well...and actually have been even worse since I had my miscarriage 2 years ago.
I have talked to my OB about it...she said it is normal...but they did run tests on me to be safe...I also had a internal sonogram done just to make sure I didn't have fibroids or anything else going on.
I would give your doctor a call and go in for an appt.
and I would definitely STAY AWAY from Advil...it made my bleeding SOOOOO much worse...my doctor told me to stay from it
