SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
So Im in bed by 9:00-9:30 the latest.. Im usually asleep by 10:00 the latest...DS doesnt usually wake until 6:00 sometimes fusses at 5:00 but we dont' go in until 6:00.
Why am I still SOOO EXHAUSTED EVERYDAY!! It's really bothering me!!
I work out at least..3times a week.. I thought that would help!! I eat healthy..even changed breakfast from an egg white on ww to fruit salad with cottage cheese!!
Any tips..or am i just doomed to be exhausted for the rest of my llfe.
(I sometimes think it's because Im mentally drained from thinking about DS all day..his schedule..his feedings...everythign)
Any thoughts or commissary?
ETA: I can barely keep my eyes open at my desk right now!
ETa: I takle vitamins too!!

I am so with you Lin!
I thought I'd be SO much less tired when Loey started STTN, but that doesn't seem to be the case!
I'm not even working out anymore... so I have no excuses

Re: SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
I have a theory that your brain is wired to be on alert for you child. Even now - Rob is amazed that if one of the boys talks in his sleep - across the hall in their own room - I can hear it and respond. It's like I don't do a lot of deep, restorative sleep because my mind is waiting for them. it's better now that they are older.. but when they were babies..

Re: SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
I was there and still am. If I'm not out by a certain time I know how the next day is gonna be Thank goodness for the invention of coffee
I also workout to help. I think we're doomed to be beat. I find myself telling DH (sorry TMI) - that if he wants some he better start initiating eary or I'm out and don't touch I'll say something like... let's do this and hurry... I gotta watch my shows and go to sleep He laughs and tells me how sexy that is
Sorry for totally going off the subject. I try and get fresh air at work, drive with the windows down, Vitamins, tons of water, coffee

Re: SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
take a multi-vitamin and plenty of water
make sure your getting at least 30g of protein a day. recommended is actually around 50 I think
6g of protein in an egg 30g in a chicken breast
Other than that diet and exercise is the usual mantra
For me its a simple as forgetting to drink enough water the day before, I wake up like a elderly women with everything aching.

I agree!! DD has always been a good sleeper but I am exhausted every day. I attribute it to always beign "on" when I am around her. My mind or body never gets a break when I am with her, between caring for and interacting with her. I couldn't even imagine how exhausted I would be if she didn't sleep.

Re: SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
I think it's just from being a mom who is pulled in many different directions all day, every day. It's exhausting have a kid and then on top of it......having to work which thank the lord I don't have to do. Even without working, I haven't felt rested and energetic since my DD was born..........and she's 22 months old!!

Re: SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
I had that problem. I went to the MD and found out my thyroid wasn't functioning properly and I needed medication.
You may or may not have any medical issues, but it can't hurt to call up your primary care MD and get a full work-up.

Lin, get your iron checked and your thyroid checked. I don't see anything you are doing that would make you that tired. You would be shocked how exhausted low iron or hypothyroidism makes you.

ITA.
Also - on nights that DS STTN, many times I find myself awake waiting for him to wake up.
On top of that, I was always tired to begin with after work and everything.

water is a BIG one for me. I can go a whole day not drinking any water! I try to drink at least 16 oz ebfore or with coffee, another in my car and another on the way home, plus water is all I drink at night(oh and wine)

Re: SPR: Exhaustion when your child STTN!!! WHY!!!!
I'm exhausted all the time. When they did my bloodwork I am slightly anemic so they told me to eat more red meat and take iron supplments. I've been trying to do both but haven't committed to it yet.
