SPR related - small world!
I know everyone knows I am an autism and behavior professional, but my "fun" job is that I teach Zumba as well.
2 Weeks ago, in my Friday night class, I notice a mother and daughter sitting and observing my class. The following week (last night) I notice they came.
The daughter was a little awkward following the movements. During the class I stood in front of her and broke down some of the steps. Usually people's first classes are really difficult, so I would come over during the class and stand in front of her.... She started getting it as the class went on.
After the class, I came up to the mom and asked how they liked it (I always like to touch base with new people.) She said she loved it. She told me to not worry about her daughter - she is hearing impaired and has autism, so she will have some difficulty with it. As she told me more about her daughter, I looked at her face.
And I remembered that I was an assistant in her Kindergarten class  
She was all grown up - 20 years old!!!!! What a small world. Here I was in my "fun" job, and sure enough I run into someone from my past....
Her mom said that she loved the class - and she usually doesn't like a lot of things.... That meant so much to me!!!!
And I loved how her mom was with her - supportive, but gave her her freedom and pushed her to try new things. They had a beautiful relationship!!!!!
On a side note - the dad came to pick them up with their 6 yr old daughter, who immediately came over to her big sister, gave her a huge hug, and a little valentine for her. 
They were such a beautiful family!!!

What a touching story Thank you for sharing! It made my heart smile on what has been an extremelly stressful morning.

I was so amazed by this girl - you would never know she had any of these issues - she looked like a typical, shy, pretty young woman.... But how much she was loved and supported by her family melted me... I remember when she was a little girl how much they did for her!!!
