Spray foam insulation in unfinished basement?
Anyone do this recently?
We've received two quotes so far -- $3500 and $2000....seems like a tremendous difference so we're having a third estimate over the weekend.
Also, one co. (the $3500 quote) said we most likely won't see a drop in our winter energy bill, but that in the summer our electric will be lower because of less stress on our A/C system.
Here are my questions -- 1. Did anyone get crazy quotes like these??
2. Did anyone see a drop in their year-round energy bills?
TIA.

Re: Spray foam insulation in unfinished basement?
We paid $3500 in July to do our whole house with cellulose. I had just wanted upstairs but they explained that they drill in and fill up the entire wall starting from the bottom. We havent had it for long so I can't comment on energy savings yet. We used JC Homecare and had a very good experience. They guarantee it for life so if you ever feel any cold spots they come and fix it for you.
ETA: we were amazed at how quick it was. they arrived at 9 and were gone by 3. no mess. it was as if they were never there.
