Spray tanning tips?
Anyone have any spray tanning tips?
I"m in a wedding this weekend and have barely any color right now. I'm thinking about going tonight and again on Thursday. Is that too much in too little time?
I'm not opposed to traditional tanning-bed tanning. Would that be better in terms of quick color?

Re: Spray tanning tips?
Why don't you do a cocktail tan like they do on Sunset Tan..lol It's a laydown regular bed, then a mystic tan after...
I've never done a spray tan, but seems to work for the celebs...lol

Re: Spray tanning tips?
Ha, I forgot there is a reality show on tanning now. LOL
I'll think about a "cocktail" tan. But wouldn't you have scrub off the lotion from the bed tan before getting into the Mystic? I've read that I should exfoliate before spray tanning.

Yes, you should always exfoliate... even before regular tanning to get the most even tan.
I don't use lotion in a regular bed.. i know.. i should, but it's annoying to me..lol Call a tanning place and ask what they recommend. Some peole get orangy from spray tan I notice... not sure what your skin tone is like or how you'd take to a spray. Again I've never tried it...

Re: Spray tanning tips?
I've been using the Banana Boat spray tan that you buy at the drug store.. it's pretty amazing! no orange color and even coverage. best part is that you don't have to rub anything in, so no orange palms!

Re: Spray tanning tips?
I did a cocktail at Beach Bum Tanning - I did a platinum level bed and then the California Spray Tan. I didn't wear any lotion in the bed and it was fine.
I think it looked great. I can post a pic if you want to see it.
I prefer California Spray Tan to Mystic Tan.

MrsNYPD - Did you wear your regular clothes afterward?
I'm thinking about doing the cocktail tomorrow night. Should I go home and exfoliate, then do the cocktail, wear clothes I don't care much about, then shower the next morning? Or can I just go straight to the tanning salon from work?

I wouldn't wear your work clothes afterward. If anything, bring or wear clothes you don't care about. I was pretty much dry after the spray tan, but it has a tendency to "rub off" a little. I would shower the next morning so the spray has extra time to work.
You can exfoliate the night before. The last time I went I didn't even exfoliate because I forgot to and it was fine.
Here's a pic of me after I did it - I am the blonde on the right:
