Re: Spring 07 mommy thread!

I have yet to step on a scale. I'm a little afraid.

I feel so much thinner, but I tried on my fat pants the other day and they did not fit at ALL!!

I'm 2 weeks postpartum and really hoping to lose as much as I can before I go back to work in October.

So I'm in!! Chat Icon

Re: Spring 07 mommy thread!

I need to lose about 20 more lbs. Of course I say this after I ate a snickers ice cream bar Chat Icon I couldn't eat anything I liked during my pregnancy though due to the blood sugar thing, so I think I'm making up for it now!

The problem is, I can't really get to the gym since I have no one to watch her while I'm there. Does anyone have any recs. for at home workout DVD's that they love?

A lot of my fat clothes are still not fitting either - my dr. said thats normal...

I gained 40 pounds during my pregnancy. I lost 20 and have 20 more to go, and would kind of like to lose another 10 after that, but will be happy with the 20 for now...

I try and eat right and work out - but I defintiely like to eat chips, so thats sort of been my downfall!!!

Well, I'm going back to work on Monday, and even though I've been going for 3 mi powerwalks several times a week, I am afraid to weigh myself - and even more afraid to try on my work clothes!!! Chat Icon

Don't worry too much!!! I get worried about you b/c you seem very hard on yourself about the weight but you just had a baby! It DOES come off..

A little tidbit of info for you:

It can take 5 full menstrual cycles before your body starts registering it isn't pg anymore and only then will you really lose the weight...its an old trick of mother nature Chat Icon

I am 9 months pp and still going at the weight loss but feeling better about myself recently. Don't beat yourself up, I'm sure you look great and look at the end prize you got!! :) good luck to you!

Re: Spring 07 mommy thread!

Hi ladies. I would like to join you. I just had my little angel, Derek 12 days ago. I gained 29 pounds, and am down 19. I would like to lose these 10 pounds by his Christening which is in mid-July. I am trying to watch what I eat, but am not going back to full fledged dieting for maybe another week (just enjoying myself now!). But any advice and tips that you ladies have, I would love to hear. Plus, I promise to share a few of my own.

Good luck ladies! We CAN do this!

Thank you Maureen - you are right, I am hard on myself Chat Icon I was even a fitness instructor for years, and always worked hard on women loving themselves - if they only knew...

Unfortunately, I was raised to be very conscious of my body, and for years I got myself to a point where I was cpmfprtable with myself, and now I'm back to square one...

I tell DH that if I had a choice - size 4 with no Cailen, or where I am now, its a no brainer, so its all worth it, but I am very upset about not fitting into my clothes for work... Its an anxiety thing about going back more than anything else!!!

Tat 5 AF rule sounds good though - I'm comfortable with that! Chat Icon

I will join you in spirit. I am still enjoying all the foods I was banned from due to heartburn/vomiting issues. It's been HEAVEN eating cheese and ice cream with no real side effects other than-->Chat Icon

I have already lost 2/3 of my weight in a very short time. My husband is sickened by it...he was hoping I'd have to work a little harder. (That and he misses the boobs)
