Spring Garden Themed 1st birthday party....
So... I want to have a theme to the 1st birthday... I was debating between a couple of things, and I have ended up deciding on a garden theme... I am going to get a designed cake... going to have my DD in a pretty dress with flowers printed on it.... a "clothesline" of monthly photos... and I was thinking about doing these for favors fo adults... one per family... is this too much? is it cute? Its just a gerber daisy in a bud vase... with some babys breath....

stacey i LOOOOOVE the idea! but what about giving thoes little gerber daisy seed packets with a little saying that says please plant these and watch them grow as i grow (something along thoes lines)

This is a really great theme and lends itself to LOTS of creative ideas (and there are lots of creative moms here, I'm just not one of 'em!) 
Love the gerber daisies, they just make me SMIIIIIIILE always. If you did them in lots of different colors that would be a great display.
You could even put the bud vases on a "grass" covered table (your florist can probably give you some ideas or do it cheaply for you!) sorta like this (not exactly, but this vibe:)
OOooh and what about something like this for a few photos (Get it... BLOOMERS )
I got my brother's eldest girl this stepping stone from redenvelope for her first birthday... they made it before her party and got a bunch of pix of her with it on party day

my mom did this for my shower... she got a teracotta pot with gardening gloves and shovel all from the dollar store and the the seed packets with a little poem about planting them and as they bloom remember how baby will be blooming as well.. i cant remember the poem for the life of me
