sprint --> att (iphone) question
if you had sprint as a carrier, and now want to get the iphone through AT&T....did you do everything w/AT&T if you wanted to keep your number?
or...do you have to go to sprint, cancel, and then go to AT&T?
how much is it to get out of your contract w/sprint?
p.s. this is question for a friend...not for me.

I dont have an answer on all your questions but I know when you go into AT&T they will port your number out for you. you don't have to call sprint for that.
Sprint has to have the info on breaking a contract listed on their website. it used to depend on the amount of months left, now I think its just a flat fee no matter what. I think its around $250. check their site though. And for that you have to call them.

Re: sprint --> att (iphone) question
I switched from Tmobile to AT&T before moving to NC and it was pretty easy. Go to AT&T and tell them your number and they can do the switch with no issues. As for how much to break a contract, IDK. Tmobile was not available in NC at the time so I did not get charged.

Re: sprint --> att (iphone) question
If you want to go from Sprint to AT&T... DO NOT cancel your account with Sprint first, you will lose the phone number that way.
Go to AT&T and they will open up a new account and port the number over from Sprint. Once that happens, the Sprint account will close and if there is an active contract there is a $200 early termination fee that will get charged on the account.
Let me know if you have any other questions... I work for Sprint (and although it hurts to hear about someone wanting to leave... I am more than happy to help!)
ETA: You will need your Sprint account number with you when you go to AT&T to port the number over.
