We have these from One Step Ahead. They are thicker and much better quality than others on the market.

I like them. They are easy to keep clean and if you store them properly they can last a long time. A friend of mine has had hers through all 3 of her kids.

Thank you SO MUCH!
Can you tell me if these are soft enough so if DS flips over on them and whacks his head he will not get hurt? TIA

I have these too. We got them as a gift. They are really thick and wonderful! They would protect the head.

Re: Square foam play mats for floor?
I have them in the nursery as a floor mat because we also have hardwood floors. They are from One Step Ahead and are nice and thick!
You can see it a little here. I have 24 blocks put together in a 4x6 pattern.

Re: Square foam play mats for floor?
They're very cute. Do yourself a favor and don't get the one's with letters and numbers and pictures. Cleaning up all those little pieces every night was torture. The ones you posted with just the big letters though, are really cute.

Re: Square foam play mats for floor?
I'm about to order the mat - thanks! Quick question, though: Do I need the 4 piece corners or are they already included??

Re: Square foam play mats for floor?
I bought them at the dollar store. It was a set of 4 for a dollar.
Andrew ended up pulling them apart and throwing them all over the place so it was great that I didn't spend a ton of money on them.

I would use the Clorox Anywhere or Lysol spray.
