Thanks for the well wishes everyone. It helps tremendously to know that people are thinking of me and Scott and our baby. I plan to print out and save this thread to show it to the baby when he is big and strong someday! My baby's name is Dylan. He weighed in at 4lbs 12 oz. He has issues that are routine to the ICU staff. Still, this is my baby and it is scary. Some of his issues are completely resolved now but some are not. I do not think I have ever had a more difficult experience than that of having to leave my baby in the hospital. It was toughest when I was in the wheelchair being taken out and when we started to drive home and the carseat was empty. Initially and while I was still in the hospital, the NICU staff did not want to predict how long Dylan would be there. But now the doctors and nurses say that there is a chance he will come home during the next 2 days. I want to be absolutely certain that he is ready before he comes home, even though it breaks my heart to be in the house without him.
