St. Patrick's day leprechaun?

I actually started doing things because of a poster on here. She would post what the Leprechaun did to her kids and home every year and I loved it!! I could not wait to do things she came up with to my kids. Building a trap with the kids is so much fun! We just covered a shoe box with green construction paper, covered a toilet paper tube with rainbow strips of construction paper, slapped some rainbow stickers on it and made little signs attached to cut wooden skewer sticks instructing the leprechaun where to go so he could get stuck in the trap. I just swap out the quarters we leave for him with chocolate gold coins and box of skittles for each of them. He also left a box of Lucky charms for breakfast with some green milk and played some silly antics while they were sleeping. Nothing too crazy. The kids love it

I was just talking about this. I saw all the leprechaun hi-jinx my friends posted on Facebook this morning. When did this become a thing?

My daughter came home from school yesterday too telling me all the things the leprechaun did in her school. She never mentioned a trap or anything about him coming to our house, so hopefully I luck out there.

It became a thing when FB became the be all, end all platform for the "look at me!!!!" crowd

It makes me crazy.
“Oh I like to make their lives MAGICAL!!!”
Then these kids grow up expecting to have sunshine blown up their asses in a daily basis.

No, no, no! Not happening! Society is Out of control! Who has time to think of this sh!t?! I'm so pissedi even started the stupid elf on the shelf!

I told my son that we are real Irish so the leprechaun doesn't come to us; that he only goes to unlucky non-Irish people's homes to make them feel better about not being Irish. What can I say? I have no shame.

I hate things like this. The elf on the shelf Is bad enough, like we can’t be satisfied w Santa? I barely had green clothes for her got her pins and a headband at target the day before. I found in my cabinet gold coins left over from V day and sent the biggest one in her lunch bag with a note, she was thrilled over the note and I left the rest of coins on breakfast table. She actually asked me is this all he left me? Which was so innocent but annoying like you’re 5, you think he’s leaving presents?

Now I feel bad I didn’t make a trap. And honestly don’t want to and I feel bad I don’t want to lol.
