PVC or aluminum? Is there a huge difference in cost? I keep hearing conflicting things about durability.

huge cost difference- literally just went though this issue last summer. I don't like how thick PVC railings are, and wanted to get the sleek aluminum look. It was ALOT more though. We went with PVC and I got the thinnest one they made, and I am happy with how it came out. I don't like the look of the standard thickness ones though

You’re like my home guru. That’s what we’re probably going to do. Just trying to figure out what color. I can’t do white because my house and fence are tan so we’re between almond and khaki.

I think white would actually look better against tan, instead of a slightly different color of tan. I have a tan-ish house, and we have white PVC railings.

Normally I’d agree because I prefer white but the house is a beigy tan with green edging. In the backyard, the railing will be right next to a tan fence. I feel like adding another color to the mix will be too much going on.

We got aluminum (white), they cost as much as iron rails we looked at.
