Do I have to mail the application or can I deliver it in person?

From the paperwork we received:
Save Time! You do not have to file in-person. All real property tax ememption applications will be accepted by mail. For additional information regarding real property tax ememption applications or to learn the status of an existing application, call the Nassau County Department of Assessment at: 516-571-1500.
Sorry I do not have Suffolk County information.

Thanks! I'm in Nassau so this was just what I needed.
I guess I can drop it off in person, too. The deadline is Jan 2, but they prefer it by the 31st. I need to have DH sign it tonight, so I was hoping to just drop it off in person tomorrow.

sorry to hijack Kara, but can this be done on-line? I need to apply for the enhanced star for my parents and need to get it done ASAP!

No..you can either go to your local town hall (your parents local town hall) or mail it in.
Google NYS Star Form and you will find it on the state website of tax or your local town website.

I went yesterday to pick up an application. Today is the cut off, so if you mail it, it won't get there in time... that's what the woman told me.
