STAR Question
I have a stupid question! 
I'm filling out the paperwork to file for the basic STAR program for the first time and I'm a little confused! It says you need to enclose a copy of your recorded deed.... This probably sounds ridiculous (I'm clueless, sorry!) but is that the title? I looked through all of our papers from the house last night and I can't find anything about a deed.

They basically just need proof that the house is yours. The county should send you a paper saying where the ownership was recorded in their records. If you have that, send that. We didn't have that yet, and sent something else...I can't remember what...and it was fine.

I just brought mine to the town and they didn't look at that at all! Maybe they won't ask for it.

PLEASE wait before filling the paperwork out. make DAMN SURE its not "scam" paperwork.
These unscrupulous A-HOLES send out stuff making you think its official and it not.

Just call the town offices and have them send you the application. It's pretty easy.

I got the form here https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/star/apply.htm
What is the next step in the process? I got confirmation it was received. All I sent was the form - will they contact me if I need to submit something else?
