Star Rebate - Property Tax
Can anyone please explian how this works?
Say if the tax is listed at 9,000 and with star its 8,000 when does this take in effect? right away? next year?
Is there a form I have to fill out?
Thanks so much...
I dont own anything yet but just curious on what the process is.
Thanks!!

you will benefit from the last homeowner's application for the rest of the year and then you need to apply by March to continue it

Correct - but it depends on what town you live in as to when to apply. Town of Oyster Bay you need to apply by December 31st.

The star rebate CHECK they got rid of. You can still apply for STAR to bring your taxes down.

No, everyone gets this as long as you apply for it. Doesn't matter if you have kids or not.

The home you are applying on has to be your primary residence - not a rental property though - that's the main restriction.
