Starbucks question
Have you ever gotten a latte where the coffee/espresso tastes burnt. Almost like you are chewing on a cigarette? Anyone know why this happens?
I don't know what causes this and it doesn't happen all the time. I would like to return the drink and tell them what's wrong with it but don't know how to describe it other than the above.

yep
i think its a combo of not cleaning their machines properly and the type of beans they use. although i love a good espresso, they mess it up more than 75% of the time.

Same here! I usually try to drink as much of it as I can and then I just throw the rest away. Sometimes I just can't tolerate the taste.

Happened to me once. I brought it back & told them it taste burnt. They made me another one & it was fine. IMO if I'm going to spend $5 for a coffee it better taste good!

I rarely get their specialty drinks but on occasion, I have had this happen with their regular coffee.
It happens at Panera too, on occasion, which is my other go-to spot.
I think it's just a bad pot of coffee that day.

always. I hate starbucks...it almost always tastes burnt or overbrewed to me. The caramel machiato and blondie are the onlie things i can tolerate
