Started progesterone shots... OUCH!
Holy cr*p I did not realize how BIG the needle was... and OUCH!

I started them last night too and I have to say, I didn't think it was so bad! the thing that was the worst for me is that I have done all the injections until now, and I had to let my husband do that one. I was so afraid but he did it so fast that I barely felt it.... That needle is friggin scary looking though!!!!

Did you try warming the PIO a bit ? I have heard that helps ( Luckily I had no pain with the PIO) Also, make sure you massage the area really well after each shot to keep it from pooling in one spot

I recommend EMLA cream. It numbs the area so you don't feel the needle.

I'm going to numb it with ice beforehand. My RE said it was ok as long as we massage the area afterwards and as long as my skin does not get wet from the ice.

Make sure that you don't stand on the side getting the shot and bend your leg to loosen the muscle on your butt. When the muscle is tight it hurts more. And you can also bend forward and lean on something. I usually lean on the bathroom counter.

I have been doing them for 3 weeks now, and must continue them until doc says so. I am starting to have nice red welts on my ***, I cry every night hubby gives them to me. He massages the area with a very hot washcloth, but it's so damn sore now. Good luck :)

i start them today but i had experience with that needle with my HCG shot... looks scarier than what it really was! That or hubby did a fabulous job!

I started to get hives the other night and they needed to change my oil from sesame to olive - I guess I was having a slight allergic reaction (after 2 weeks!!!)
