starting acupuncture today
i'm going to a place in huntington that seems pretty informed about the connection to fertility.
i read that studies show if you get acupuncture before and after the transfer, the statistical chance of success goes up by a decent margin. have the acupuncture girls done this? or are you guys just going weekly?

Re: starting acupuncture today
I have gone before transfer, I believe it has to be within a 24 hour period to have the desired effect but my acupuncturist has aimed for 12-15 hours or so. Prior to and weeks after transfer I typically go once a week. When I did an FET I went almost 2 times per week to make sure my lining was just right. GL!

Re: starting acupuncture today
i did it for three months prior to my IVF and through my IVF. i believe it significantly improved my lining although it did take a full 3 months to see that effect. i did it the day before ER and the day before my transfer. i went to the acupuncturist that works in SIRM in the city. he was great!! i only stopped because it was expensive and my insurance didnt cover any of it. but i really loved it! it really helped keep me centered during the IVF cycle. i went once a week.

I love it!
I have heard it can take 3 months about to balance your hormones and work.
Good luck!

Re: starting acupuncture today
I went twice a week normally. The day of my transfer, I went right before and right after. I only had to transfer on Day 2 and it worked. I'm now due in June. I'm not sure if it's the accupuncture that helped or was I just really lucky but it doesn't hurt to keep the session.

i went to suffolk county acupuncture, a guy named james vitale right off 110.
this first treatment was focused on stress relief he said. after he finished putting all the needles in my back, he left the room so i could rest, and i had this weird wave of crying...like, for no reason. i can't explain it except that the acupuncture must have done something because i was sitting there blubbering like an idiot and thinking why am i crying??? and after that passed i almost fell asleep.
we'll see what it does for my fertility.

Re: starting acupuncture today
well, it was either the acupuncture or mood swings from a week's worth of hormone injections, lol.
