Starting weight watchers today
Need to get a grip on the post marriage weight gain.
I've never join WW-I'm a little nervous about a public weigh in.

Re: Starting weight watchers today
It's not really a public weigh in. Only you and the woman working at the counter (who is a ww member too, usually someone who has reached lifetime status) will see the numbers on the scale.
You can be as private or as public with it as you want. IF you want to share your loss/gain one week during the meeting discussion, you can, and people will cheer you on or offer advice. if you want to keep it all to yourself noone will ever push it out of you.
Good luck. WW works!

Don't be nervous - it's not like a carnival scale!! It's private and the women who do the weigh in are very discreet.
Good Luck!

Re: Starting weight watchers today
Thank you all for the encouragement-a friend has been on it for a few months and lost 25.5 lbs and she gets to eat everything (in moderation, of course). It seems easier to follow than some of the other methods out there.
I also chose it because I want something I can follow long term. I only need to lose about 15 lbs or so, but I want to choose a plan that I can follow LT so I don't fall off the wagon and gain back. Atkins and/or low carb plans worked great ST, but were hard for me to keep up beyond a couple of months.

Good for you! I was thinking this morning about joining. I have some post pregnancy weight that I have to lose and I have some pre-pregnancy weight that I would like to lose.

Re: Starting weight watchers today
Don't be nervous!
I did WW for 5 months and lost 50lbs! I lost the first 10 lbs the first 2 weeks! I loved it. The beginning is hard to get used to how it works, but about a week or two later I got the hang of it. I was sooo proud of myself. After this baby is born I will be doing WW again. I just hope it's not going to be harder to follow with another little one around. The WI's you'll get used to. I couldn't wait to WI every week. It's very addicting and exciting. But... and this is a VERY BIG BUT... you have to follow the plan. A lot of women keep saying I don't know why I'm not losing weight. Well, it's because they always cheated. I wrote everything down. That's one of the keys. Some people get lazy. I stopped writing everything down after I became a Lifetime member. I pretty much remembered everything and knew the points at that point. Good luck and if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Re: Starting weight watchers today
I have been off WW for 2 months, but it was a great kick start to change my attitude about food & exercise. I posted on the diet/fitness board earlier, but I went into WW a size 16, and yesterday I bought a size 7 jeans for the first time since the wedding! Even after I was out of the meetings I stayed on the Core program & it has dome amazing things (I modified it a little b/c I have GERD and Thyroid issues & I eat organically whenever I can). It has been amazing for me, since I was always thin & did not know how to handle this surge of weight gain.
Good luck

Re: Starting weight watchers today
It isn't that public. They won't say your weight out loud. Don't stress about it.
WW is awesome! I've lost 40lbs. on it. Good luck!
