Re: starting injectables
Well first of all good luck...I'm only on my second cycle so I'm no expert but I've found them to be much easier than Clomid as far as side effects.
DH gives me my shots at 9pm every night, I'm doing the Gonal F pen so it's really easy to dial up the dosage and the needles are small. The first one is the hardest, its more nerves than anything I think. Just grab an inch of your belly and pinch it hard, and you can hardly feel the needle.
I usually go in for sono/bloodwork on the third day after starting and then every other day after that. They will be monitoring your follie growth and also your estrogen levels. They will adjust the dosage based on that. When you are ready to go, you will do the HCG shot, a little bit bigger needle but DH also administered that one to me.
If you are not used to it, seeing your follies growing on the sonogram is pretty exciting, at least it is for me LOL. Last month I totally overstimmed though so my cycle was cancelled. Its definitely a risk for women with PCOS.
What is your dosage? Keep us posted on your progress!

Re: starting injectables
I am on CD 1 and I go into the dr. saturday, so I will find out my dosage then. I think I will be on follistim, atleast that's the video I had to watch. Not that this matters, but I just wanted to know, did you notice any weight gain from it?

Re: starting injectables
They initially prescribed Follistim but my insurance only covers Gonal-F, must be cheaper. It's basically the same idea though.
Unfortunately I have noticed that I go up between 1-2 pounds when I'm on it. But that came off afterwards once the HCG was out of my system. So it's not really weight gain, must just be water retention I guess. But nothing major so don't worry.

I have heard from some people they gained 10-15 lbs. 1-2 is nothing. I wouldn't mind gaining the weight if in the end I would get a BFP, just wanted to prepare myself.
