I've never been to B&D

Ruth's Chris hasn't impressed me so far. (I've been to couple.) I guess the fact that it's a franchise ruins it for me.

Rothmanns is ok. I like the atmosphere, but they oversalt their meat/steaks.

We were extremely disappointed in Blackstone. Sooooo overpriced and our food was eh. We sat near the kitchen and had to share our table with flies. Lovely!
Out of the 3 you mentioned, we've only been to Rothmann's and LOVED it. But it was 5 years ago. They had awesome dessert too - molten chocolate cake - sooooo yummy. I think Rothmann's is owned by the same people as Blackstone, but it was so much better. Sagamore in Syosset was also good and owned by the same people I believe. Out of those 3 Rothmann's was by far the best.

it does rock! the food is amazing. but for ambiance, I would pick 21 Main... it's so cozy and romantic Chat Icon and the food is just as good. plus it's owned by Lovin' Oven, so the desserts are from Audrey's Chat Icon

Re: Steakhouses

I really like Rothman's, DH took me there on our first date.

Only trouble is, we used to go back on our "dating" anniversary every year. I ordered the Beef Wellington and seriously had to send it back twice, the 2nd time it came back it was still totally raw but I didn't want to keep sending it back, so I just didn't eat it. I'm not one to send stuff back, but if you're paying $50 for an entree, it better be right!

Everything else I've ever had there was fantastic. I've never eaten at the other places.

Boulder Creek, Blackstone, Rothmanns, Sagamore and B&D are all owned by Sbarro, so chances are, they're probably buying their meats from the same place.

My all time favorite steakhouse is The Clubhouse in Huntington on Jericho Tpke. It's a small, intimate restaurant that's been there for years.

I haven't been, but heard it's very good (but also very pricey...probably the priciest on LI) : Mac's Steakhouse

I totally feel the same way!

What about Morton's or Peter Lugers?
