Steam cleaner/vac for carpets....
Has anyone purchased one to clean their carpets/rugs or even upolstered furniture?
DH was thinking of purchasing one (Bissel makes one) and wanted me to see if any of my "internet friends on that chat site" had any suggestions?

We have one...have to ask DH what kind since it's his toy. I know he loves it and it does a great job.
Bad in one way because we have this hideous carpet from the last owners and I wanted to get rid of it badly. Taught Lucas to wipe his feet on it  and just when it was gross and we were ready to trash it...DH cleaned it and it looked almost new

Hoover Steam Vac
This is the one that I have (except mine is over 8 years old, and still working great)... I use it maybe once a month. Not all the carpets at a time, but whenever there is a spill, or if I think they need them. Even shampooing 4 times a year, it's amazing how much stuff you pull up! 
4x a year = $160 a year. For $180, I own it, and it's in the house, so for me, it definitely makes sense to own one.

We have a hoover I think and we love it...but we do it when DD isn't in the house, I feel like all the crap that it brings up can't be too good for her.....it makes the rugs look brand new, seriously amazing

We have a Bissell one bc our dog was peeing all over the damn place. It works great. On a boring Saturday night I'll tell James "Let's clean the rugs" -- exciting lives we lead! I know! 
ETA: Not sure if you have a Kohl's card, but I do and waited until I got a 30% off coupon!
