Re: Steel Cut Oatmeal- How do you make?
I get the McCanns quick cook in the box and put in a serving with just enough water to cover (it soaks up water big time) and microwave for 1 min. 30 sec. but it has to say quick cook oats..I get them at the supermarket or trader joe's

Is steel cut oatmeal better/healthier than regular (old fashioned) oats?

not really. they are less processed but have the same amts of calories, fiber, and other nutrients.
I prefer the taste of rolled (old fashioned) oats, so I stick with those.

Re: Steel Cut Oatmeal- How do you make?
I have made enough for the week on Sunday night. I believe I used 1 cup of oats to 4 cups of water. I add brown sugar. Then just portion it out and heat in the morning. May need to add a drop of water if too thick when reheating.

Re: Steel Cut Oatmeal- How do you make?
I don't like the steel cut so I use quick cooking rolled oats. I like it with brown sugar, cranberries and either walnuts or pecans. So yummy.
I have also made it with sautéed banana's and brown sugar with some cinnamon and walnuts.
