It does stink...because this is where I came to vent my anger or ask for opinions...WITHOUT involving my husband. I didn't want to stress him out with all this garbage so I came to talk to my "friends" here.
You know what...I did say a lot of things that were not nice...but this is my place to do it. Excuse me for sticking up for myself with my letter and doing a little venting here. I believe there is something called Freedom of Speech.

although I don't think I've had any lurkers, we used to share a lot of info with one of DH's cousins. We don't do that anymore because she would NEVER see it our way- NEVER...no matter how obnoxious my IL's would be, she'd still see it their way.
Then I realized, no matter what- I will always be an outsider and they will NEVER see things my way.
But, I did share this piece of info with her: My MIL is NEVER going to treat me the way that she treats the other blood female relatives in this family. Where she's supportive of them about something, she's critical of me for the same thing. She's an entirely different person with me than she is with them. And, eventually, they will experience the same thing once they become a part of someone else's life.
I know it's not the same as your situation, but I HTH.
