Step-parents board on LIF
http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/forum-31-1.html
I just noticed the Step-parents board. Doesn't apply to me, but I think it's a good idea for all the step-parents out there.

Re: Step-parents board on LIF
So I wonder if they will move the posts from parenting? They don't move posts to the correct boards now.
I have 5 step-kids myself. One I adopted, as I raised him since he was 8 months old.

Re: Step-parents board on LIF
hmm... i don't know if i like that (not that it applies to me...)
does that mean that all posts that would normally be appropriate for the parenting and relationship boards will get moved? is it possible that some stepparents won't get the "views" and advice they are looking for?

I think the same can be said for lots of the boards on here. I would bet that it will be the same as always...
some posts get moved, some won't
people will complain about their posts getting moved...etc

At the very least, given some of the privacy of the Relationships board, I would hope posts would never be moved out of that board to another without the OP's permission...

Re: Step-parents board on LIF
I think its cool only cause I am only a step parent and would feel weird posting on parenting board. But I also am pretty new to the boards in general anyway and not up and up on all the rules.

You're still a parent.... Just because you didn't give birth doesn't mean you aren't a parent. I didn't give birth, but I still post there....
I'm thinking that the step-parent board would be for discussions focusing on the fact that you are a step-parent. Dealing with the ex, DC not listening because "You're not my real mom", etc. General parenting questions would still fall under "Parenting". "Where is a good spot for a 5yo b-day party." is a parenting question.

you can still cross-post if it applies to both sections
I think it's a great idea for supporting those who are step-parents

Awe, thanks
The not giving birth comment made me chuckle
