Steps to becoming an organ donor:
from www.organdonor.gov
1. Register with your state donor registry, if available. NY State Donor Registry Signup
2. Designate your decision on your driver’s license.
3. Sign a donor card and carry it with you. Cards are available at no cost at the HRSA Information Center. CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR FREE ORGAN DONOR CARD
4. Talk to your Family. To help your family understand and carry out your wishes, sit down with your loved ones and tell them about your decision to be an organ and tissue donor. They can serve as your advocate and may be asked to give consent for donation or provide information to the transplant team.

I'm now OFFICIALLY registered as an organ donor! I thought all I needed to do was sign the back of my license...
YAY!!!

me too, until about a month ago! Although it is in my health care proxy paperwork, if (God Forbid) I was in an accident or something, people will find my organ donor card in my wallet before digging up my health care proxy.

It really means alot to me that you did this!!! yes you can just sign your licence but one, it can wipe off after time, and 2 it's better to have it on papers and with more then just one family member/ all doctors

Awe, thanks!!! I'm so excited!!! It's crazy why a person wouldn't do this. (of course this is JMHO - you know, besides religious beliefs) I am a giving person by nature, so this just goes along with all of my core beliefs.
