Steps to redoing a bathroom...

We'll be putting in a new vanity, sink and flooring in our smaller bathroom. In what order do we do things? Is this right?

1) Remove old vanity and sink
2) Remove floor
3) Put down new floor
4) Install new vanity and sink

I'm so clueless at all of this. This is going to be so much fun! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yes, as long as you aren't doing anything else.

lol i'm probably not a good one to answer with the way my DH does things- lol... .our second bathroom is currently down to the studs, and he keeps finding reasons to rip more stuff out! lol

but i would say your order looks good, as long as your not planning to redo anything else in there...

Re: Steps to redoing a bathroom...

There's really no other way to do it. The sink cabinet usually sits on top of the tile, so it has to come out first, and go back in last.

(Make sure the vanity and counter are level, not just sitting on the tile.... like my "professional" contractor did... Chat Icon There is a slight slope to the floor (old house), and the sink cabinet is just sitting on the tile, so it's not level. Found that out when I put in the vanity myself, and it was perfectly level, and doesn't line up with the sink..... Chat Icon )
