Still no weight loss

At this point, I am just having my thyroid checked - this is ridiculous! I've been following WW, trying to take all the great advice the LIF ladies have given, working out every day, and I've only lost 3 pounds since JANUARY!

I really want a cheesecake right now!

Re: Still no weight loss

3 lbs IS weight loss, lady! Slow and steady wins the race. I hate to say this, and I mean no disrespect against WW because for some it really works, but maybe it isn't the best plan for you? I know for me, it was not the best plan at all. Have you given any thought into trying something different?

Re: Still no weight loss

You are so sweet! I appreciate the motivation, but its just discouraging when everyone around me is losing 10-15 lbs in the time I lost 3, when I know that I am putting more effort into it!

I'm starting to think I NEED to try something different now. Hey can you explain the macro thing to me?

Re: Still no weight loss

I totally understand. It can be very frustrating but try not to let it stress you out. Stress=bad for weight loss! Stress produces cortisol and cortisol makes it very hard to lose weight!

As for the macros, basically I would start by writing down EVERYTHING you eat for a few days. Write down the food and the nutrition content (fat, carbs, protein) and then add it up to get your totals for the day. I don't look at calories, I look strictly at macronutrients. Once you see where you are, you can adjust them to help with your goals. Does that make sense?

Ok, I get it (I think...). How many macronutrients should I try hitting as a start?

Re: Still no weight loss

I'm with Lauren....its no disrespect to WW but it wasn't and isn't the plan for me. Clean eating was the only way to go for me. And while I too haven't seen the big numbers that some other people have seen I am losing inches and tightening and toning all the places I need and want to.
The scale is just a single way to gauge progress....but its honestly probably the worst in terms of true success. I have a friend on MFP (myfitnesspal) who is doing P90X and lost only 4 pounds but lost SO MANY inches that when you compare her side by side progress photos over the last 45 days you would say that there was no way that was merely 4 pounds (it honestly looks like she dropped at least 25+!)

Take your measurements.... keep staying on track with your eating...keep working out....and success will be yours Chat Icon

Re: Still no weight loss

What does a typical day's food look like for you on WW? If you want, include serving sizes and I will try to help you track out a typical day to see where you are at!

I agree with this- I never really used the scale until now- and it's messy with my head more then it's helping

I can see and feel the difference in my body way more then 5lbs the scale says I am down

I am going back to trying on jeans and tracking my progress that way

FIrst of all you have to be kind to yourself! You are beating yourself up and you are doing great! The way we speak to and about ourselves really effects our progress! The fact that you are working hard and trying to find a plan that works for you is a GREAT THING! Instead of thinking "Its not working...I have so muhc work to do..." Think "I am so determined, and dedicated i WILL do this!"

your clothes are loser---which means it IS working! Patience lady...like I siad, track and post a typical day or FM me and I will try to help!
