Storing of baby toys when an older child is around again
So I have a 3 year old and we've brought out the baby toys again for DS #2 (who comes in 2 weeks!!)
How do you seperate the two toys or do you bother? Obviously there is no harm in my 3 year old playing with baby toys. And DS will have to learn that there are certain toys baby #2 cannot play with.
I have a large toy box, would you mix them?

what about different color storage bins
dark blue for #1 and light blue for #2 and red for both?

Honestly, I never bothered to separate them. I do now tho. DD has her own toy box of specific toys she does not have to share with DS unless she wants to, and vice versa.
Prior to them fighting over toys, I never kept them separate.

Re: Storing of baby toys when an older child is around again
For the most part DS1s toys are in the playroom. And DS2s toys are in the living room.
But now that DS2 is almost 11 months they do get cross mingled often.
I went through the playroom and found all the really small items that I didnt want DS2 playing with. And i will often ask DS1 if a toys is okay for his brother to "test" him so he knows what he can and cannot share.

When my first two were born - I didn't separate as the older's toys weren't too bad for the younger - only 2.5 yrs apart. The dangerous stuff I put high so either had to ask to use them. Now my youngest is almost 4-7 yrs younger and all the toys are dangerous. I have a gated playroom for the big kids stuff and her baby toys in the family room (the kids are 1, 4 and 7 now). Now she cries like heck to go in the playroom so I only let her in when I am with her and on top of her. My older ones have lots of little legos, toy guns for action figures and such....so I have to be super careful with her.

Re: Storing of baby toys when an older child is around again
My DD and DS are two years apart. DS is almost 8 months and his baby toys are all over as are most of 2.5 yr old DD's. BUT now that she is gettingn older alot of her toys have more peices and smaller pieces so I am trying to control her stuff in her room for the most part. I use alot of dollar store plastic baskets for her things. I think I need a better system.

honestly, they are going to mix no matter how hard you try. I can't even get the girls to keep their books in their respective rooms. The book shelves are totally mixed.

Storing baby toys its too much difficult task Or if you have two children then Its tough job. But , I can say that You should select two different colors of storage bin and keep their to their own room. Hope your information helpful to you.
