Re: Stork for the lawn
Just a thought...my friends had the stork but I told DH I didn't want one. To me it seemed like advertizing "hey we have a new baby here" to any crazy person who could break in, rob us, kidnap her...I was just too worried that it would bring unwated attention.

Re: Stork for the lawn
I rented one for my brother when they had my niece. I got the one for the baby and another that said "I'm a big sister" It was like $100 (that a few years ago)

I have to agree.
I'd be afraid of being home alone the first few weeks and someone coming to the door
We have a curbside mailbox so maybe we'll tie blue and/or pink ballons (one for each bay) as a code to let the neighbors we are friendly with know the babies have arrived.

We tied a few balloons on the handrail for a day or two - for the curious neighbors that knew we had a baby on the way. For the longest - I always wanted a stork when we had a baby - but I got overwhelmed and afraid last minute to advertise knowing that strangers would know a newborn was inside the house. Paranoid about that! But to each his own

I never wanted one. Just didn't I am doing the balloon thing too.
I have to say I had never thought of this reason though and it is a good one. Thanks for sharing
